National Centre for Clinical Research on Emerging Drugs (NCCRED)
The National Centre for Clinical Research on Emerging Drugs (NCCRED) brings researchers, practitioners and consumers together to create a robust evidence base for treatment and interventions for people who use methamphetamine and emerging other drugs of concern.
Details of the role
The National Centre for Clinical Research on Emerging Drugs (NCCRED) is a national research centre that seeks to embed research in clinical practice. It aims to support clinicians to detect and respond to new drug health problems by building clinical research capacity and rapidly translating findings into clinical practice. The Centre aims to develop and implement a system that allows for rapid, flexible, and collaborative responses to emerging substances that are having prevalent, persistent, and harmful health and community impacts.
The Knowledge Translation Lead plays a key role leading the Centre's strategic efforts to translate research into clinical practice. The role combines project leadership, sector engagement, and evidence implementation to drive clinical and public health improvements.
This role will suit a candidate with experience in health program delivery, digital knowledge translation, and stakeholder coordination across clinical and research environments. It involves working closely with the Centre's leadership to ensure research outputs are effectively communicated, adopted, and embedded into practice.
The role reports to the Director and Deputy Director.
Some Key Skills Required
* Demonstrated understanding of the public health, clinical and research environment in the drug and alcohol sector. A clinical background, notable within the Alcohol and Drug sector will be highly desired but not a requirement.
* Relevant academic qualification or experience in clinical service delivery with equivalent experience in public health, clinical education, drug and alcohol research, or health program implementation.
* Lead a program of research that supports the translation of evidence into effective clinical treatment for methamphetamine use and emerging drug problems, through collaboration with key stakeholders to co-develop practical resources and implementation strategies.
* Collaborate with clinicians, policymakers, and researchers to co-design practical, engaging tools that support uptake of research findings, including digital resources, clinical decision aids, and training content. Foster partnerships across research, clinical, and community settings, coordinating stakeholder input and facilitating knowledge exchange networks.
* Project manage the dissemination of deliverables through effective implementation strategies, including the production of podcasts and/or webinars to facilitate network communications and sharing of resources.
* Support strategic planning, reporting, and performance analysis of the Centre's knowledge translation initiatives. Contribute to the general project management work of the Centre with the aim of supporting the Centre to achieve its objectives. Perform other duties as required by the Director relevant and consistent with the position.
* Organise and deliver the annual research symposium, together with the Clinical Research Lead and Project Manager.
* Demonstrated experience in translating complex health research into accessible formats for clinical or community use.
