**The Company**
Our client is Australia's largest integrated manufacturer and supplier of sustainable steel products and solutions to the infrastructure, construction, engineering, mining, manufacturing, agricultural and rural markets. A market leader in the metals recycling business in Australia with operating centres across the globe. They are seeking an experiences Safety Leader to join one of their flagship sites and take ownership of driving a safety first culture.
**The Role**
Reporting directly to the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring the overall operation of the Site and ensuring that safety standards and procedures are applied for the safety of everyone. 
- Organizing safety orientations and training for the workers where required. 
- Reiterating precautionary safety measures, policies, standards, and procedures. 
- Inspecting the workplace and jobs being performed on a day-to-day basis, providing support on hazards identification, at risk behaviour and assisting with the investigation of workplace incidents to prevent similar events in the future.
**Your Background**
In order to be successful for this role, you will have:
- A bachelor's degree in an Occupational Health and Safety discipline. 
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a full-time similar position, ideally in a manufacturing environment or high risk industry. 
- Competency in Risk Management and Incident response and investigation. 
- Victoria safety legislation 
- Leadership abilities, time management, good communication, initiative, and problem solving skills.
