With a strong focus on operational efficiency and strategic growth, they are seeking a skilled Accounts Payable and Procurement Officer to support their financial services team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality support services.
Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Services Manager, you will oversee and manage the School's procurement and purchasing functions, while also administering day-to-day accounts payable operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance, efficiency, and value for money across all purchasing activities, while supporting broader financial operations and strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing procurement activities in line with policy and strategic goals.
* Administering accounts payable processes
* Coordinating supplier relationships, quotes, tenders, and purchasing systems.
* Maintaining the vendor Masterfile and reconciling purchasing card transactions.
* Supporting staff with procurement queries and travel arrangements.
* Ensuring accurate asset register entries and reconciliation with the general ledger.
* Providing procurement reporting and dashboards to inform decision-making.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience in procurement and accounts payable management.
* Strong understanding of electronic invoice systems and procurement processes.
* High level of computer literacy, including spreadsheets and database management.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage competing priorities.
* Qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
* Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People card and recent National Police Check.
