Desired Skills and Experience
About You
Can you drive a car? We can teach you to drive a bus.
If you hold a current, full Australian driver’s licence (at least 2 years old), have full working rights in Australia, and either hold or have applied for a Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People, you’re eligible apply! Our six‑week paid training program will equip you with all the skills you need, and you’ll graduate with your Heavy Rigid licence.
What We Provide
To help you get on the road, we’ll organise and cover the cost of:
* A National Police Check through Service Tasmania
* A pre‑employment physical assessment, including Drug and Alcohol testing
* A Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV) licence
Already have your Medium Rigid licence? We encourage you to apply — we can upgrade you too.
About the working experience
We offer:
* A competitive salary of between $70,140 - $94,000 per year for full time drivers, well above the national award
* $2,000 Sign-on Bonus made up of $1000 sign-on-bonus once you pass probation and $1000 once you hit 12 months at Metro
* 8 weeks of paid leave for full-time drivers (5 weeks annual, 3 weeks accrued days)
