$130k - $140k + Super

We are seeking a Network Technician with a strong background in telecommunications and enterprise networking. This role is part of a high-performing operations team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing complex IP, MPLS, switched, and optical networks, while supporting the delivery of new services across a national footprint.
The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient, adaptable, and proactive, with the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively in fast-paced environments. The role includes occasional on-call work and interstate travel at short notice.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and resolve a wide range of network faults on metro and long-haul transmission systems
* Maintain and replace active and passive telecommunications equipment
* Produce fault analysis, reports, and recommend improvements for faster resolution
* Manage planned works to ensure SLA compliance
* Liaise with customers, suppliers, and network partners as required
* Perform software upgrades across a range of network equipment
* Complete service documentation and maintain accurate configuration records
* Decommission, upgrade, and manage hardware, including sparing and warranty returns
* Attend Datacentres, remote sites, and customer premises for installs and replacements
* Commission, configure, and test new services, including switches, routers, and network devices
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a network/telecommunications role within a commercial or carrier environment
* Diploma/Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
* Strong knowledge of Ethernet switching, IP routing, and transmission fundamentals
* Hands-on experience with optical fibre networks and related test equipment (OTDRs, power meters)
* Familiarity with MPLS, CWDM/DWDM, and network security desirable
* Exposure to operational processes such as documentation, ITIL change management, and planned maintenance
* Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/JNCIA highly regarded
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a logical and structured approach to troubleshooting
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a wider network team
