I'm working exclusively on a newly created Specification Sales role for a well-established, technically led organisation operating within the civil and infrastructure space. The business has experienced sustained growth and is investing heavily in its Victorian presence, creating a genuine long-term opportunity for the right person.
The Opportunity:
This role sits at the intersection of engineering, consulting and commercial sales. You'll be responsible for getting technically engineered solutions specified early working closely with consulting engineers, developers, authorities and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are set up for success long before construction begins.
You'll be trusted to manage your territory, build meaningful relationships, and act as a technical authority while still maintaining a clear commercial focus.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive the specification of engineered solutions into development approvals and engineering designs.
* Work closely with consulting engineers, developers, councils and project stakeholders.
* Support projects from early concept through to approval and delivery.
* Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, forecasts and revenue opportunities.
* Deliver technical presentations, proposals and workshops.
* Collaborate with internal engineering and pre-sales teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
* Represent the business at industry events, conferences and technical forums.
* Maintain accurate CRM records and project tracking.
About You:
* Degree qualified (or technically qualified) in Engineering or a related discipline.
* 5+ years' experience in specification sales, technical sales or engineering-led business development.
* Comfortable engaging senior engineers, authorities and commercial decision-makers.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
* Background in civil, infrastructure or engineered systems highly regarded.
* Organised, commercially minded and comfortable managing multiple projects concurrently.
* Current driver's licence essential.
