About the role
The Senior Business Analyst will support the analysis, documentation and communication required to deliver AI‑enabled solutions that improve teaching, learning and business operations. The role focuses on understanding business needs, defining clear requirements and translating complex AI concepts into practical insights for non‑technical audiences. Working closely with data science, development, governance and stakeholder teams, the analyst ensures AI initiatives are well understood, well documented and aligned to business value.
Key Objectives
Identify business challenges and define where AI can deliver measurable improvements.
Analyse data to uncover insights, refine success measures and support decision-making.
Translate AI, search and generative AI concepts into clear, accessible language.
Facilitate workshops to gather requirements, validate findings and present POC outcomes.
Produce process maps, visual artefacts and structured requirements documentation.
Develop high‑quality user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria.
Maintain a structured backlog with well-defined epics and stories.
Operate within established AI governance and assurance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Engage stakeholders to gather and document business needs with accuracy and clarity.
Produce detailed user stories and validate AI‑generated artefacts where relevant.
Identify risks, impacts and dependencies across business processes.
Evaluate current processes and recommend AI‑driven improvements.
Workshops & Stakeholder Engagement
Facilitate sessions to clarify requirements, validate changes and support decision-making.
Act as a bridge between business and technical teams.
Build strong working relationships across curriculum, IT, legal, governance and school groups.
Communication & Documentation
Convert complex technical ideas into clear summaries and briefings.
Prepare executive-ready documentation, process maps and functional/non-functional requirements.
Support artefacts required for governance, risk and assurance processes.
Required Experience
Strong experience as a Business Analyst in complex technology environments.
Exposure to data-driven or emerging technology initiatives.
Excellent facilitation and communication skills.
Ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
Experience producing structured user stories and detailed acceptance criteria.
Strong documentation and process mapping capability.
Ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Understanding of governance, compliance and public sector risk considerations.
Preferred Experience
Experience in education or public sector settings.
Familiarity with generative AI, search, NLP or machine learning.
Experience with proofs of concept and scaling solutions.
Understanding of AI governance, copyright and data risk.
Background in innovation or product development environments.
