The Team Leader provides strong, visible leadership and operational oversight across three youth residential facilities in Townsville, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, trauma-informed and person-centred care for young people, including children and young people with complex needs.
The role is responsible for the effective leadership, coordination and support of Residential Youth Workers, ensuring consistent service delivery, clear expectations, and a culture of accountability, professionalism and care across all houses. This includes overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with documentation, reporting and regulatory requirements, and maintaining high standards of practice aligned with organisational policies and child safety frameworks.
The Team Leader plays a critical role in coordinating daily tasks and workflows, supporting needs-based, client-centred case management for each young person, and ensuring clear communication, timely guidance and constructive feedback are provided to staff. Through active coaching and problem-solving, the role supports the Residential Youth Workers to respond effectively to young people’s needs while promoting consistency, stability and positive outcomes across the residential services.
