Do you have a professional phone manner, strong multitasking skills, and a passion for helping others - all from behind the scenes? Central Coast Local Health District is seeking Switchboard & Patient Enquiries Offices in a casual capacity, where you’ll play a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate communication across the hospital.
About The Opportunity
- Operate the hospital switchboard to manage incoming and outgoing calls with accuracy, professionalism, and prompt redirection to the appropriate departments.
- Provide courteous and helpful assistance to patients, staff, and the public, including handling urgent or emergency calls in line with hospital protocols.
- Utilise internal systems to access, record, and relay critical information while ensuring messages and enquiries are logged and managed efficiently.
- Perform general administrative support tasks, including data entry, filing, and record updates, to maintain accurate and organised communications.
- Stay calm, composed, and customer-focused in high-pressure situations while working collaboratively with all departments to ensure smooth, timely communication across the hospital.

About You
- You deliver consistently exceptional customer service with a warm, professional approach across phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
- You have a clear and confident phone manner, with the ability to manage high call volumes, multitask effectively, and remain calm under pressure.
- You demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- You are confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and databases, with excellent data entry and administrative skills.
- You are a team player who also works independently, with a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and commitment to supporting others when needed.
