Principal Solution Architect
* Full-Time Temporary opportunity up to 12 months
* Salary Range $149,739 - $173,174pa + super

Program Overview

You'll play a key part in shaping the future of digital services and contributing to impactful projects that make a difference to NSW customers.
Key accountabilities
* Develop high-level and detailed solution architecture for an application, covering application, data, IT services and cloud infrastructure aspects of the solution, that aligns with business requirements and objectives.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of the current state architecture, documenting existing components, interactions, dependencies, data stores, and technologies.
* Analyse business requirements and business process to develop a target state architecture that aligns with business requirements, strategic goals, and industry best practices, identifying and modelling solution building blocks.
* Ensure that the architectural design aligns with Revenue NSW's principles and standards, maintaining consistency with patterns, frameworks, and reference architectures.
* Perform gap analysis and develop a roadmap to transition from the current state to the target state architecture, addressing key dependencies, priorities, and migration requirements.
* Propose and evaluate alternative solution options, considering requirements, risks and trade-offs, and recommend a solution option with justification.
* Develop proof of concepts to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the recommended solution.
* Provide technical leadership to guide the development and implementation of complex initiatives.
* Collaborate closely with stakeholders and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions that address both short-term objectives and long-term strategic goals.
* Provide guidance and oversight to development teams during solution implementation, ensuring alignment with the target design and architectural principles.
* Evaluate emerging technologies, platforms, and tools to identify opportunities for innovation.
To be successful in the role you will demonstrate:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience in software architecture and design
* 10+ years of experience in designing IT solutions.
* In-depth expertise in cloud architecture, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS).
* Experience in micro services architecture and modern development methodologies.
* Proven experience in delivering scalable and cost-effective enterprise solutions for large, complex programs or projects.
* Experience in delivering secured applications with in-depth knowledge of security design principles and standards.
* Experience in software design principles, patterns and software architecture.
* Strong understanding of agentic capability to handle multi-step workflows - data validation, identity matching, document verification – opportunity of introducing intelligent routing.
* Experience implementing LLMs to interact with external data sources, databases, and APIs and LLM performance optimisation and monitoring
