Bates Smart is seeking a proactiveNational Compliance Coordinatorto support the effective operation and continuous improvement of our Integrated Management System across all studios nationally.
Overview
The National Compliance Coordinator works closely with our National Compliance/Technical Design Manager and plays a key role in maintaining our ISO certifications (ISO ****, ***** & *****), supporting audit programs, and ensuring clear communication around compliance processes and system updates.
This is a role suited to someone who is detail-oriented, motivated, and committed to fostering high standards through effective systems, communication, teamwork, with a genuine interest in supporting quality, safety, and environmental standards.
We welcome applications from candidates at all experience levels who bring strong analytical, organisational, and administrative capabilities, and who thrive in a collaborative studio environment.
Understanding of compliance, risk, workplace safety, incident management, and reporting would be beneficial.
Previous experience in Architecture and/or Interior Design practice would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Support ongoing certification of the company's Integrated Management System (Quality, Safety & Environmental) in accordance with ISO ****, ISO *****, and ISO *****
Assist in periodic reviews of the management system with the Knowledge & Process (K&P) Working Group and relevant employees across studios
Provide administrative support to the Compliance team, WHS and K&P Working Groups — including reporting, minute-taking, register maintenance, calendar management and other administrative tasks as required
Identify opportunities for system improvements and recommend updates as needed
Support the implementation of training programs and communication initiatives to educate employees on system changes
Contribute to general risk assessments and training requirements
Help establish and maintain project and system audit programs across all studios
Undertake project audits in accordance with the audit programs
Follow up pro-actively on issues that require investigation and report back on findings as necessary
Maintain an overview of management system inductions for new employees and support ongoing implementation
Awareness of management systems and their implementation
Excellent analytical, organisational, and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Salesforce
Experience or interest in Architecture and/or Interior Design (advantageous)
Salary is commensurate based on experience.
Part time position may be considered.
