Mechanical Engineer / Multidisciplinary Draftsperson
Position is based in Kalgoorlie Western Australia. Reporting directly to the Director of ReliaBlee, you will be responsible for reverse engineering, designing equipment in accordance with the Australian Standards and or Client Specifications and producing detailed drawings for fabrication as well as undertaking mathematical calculations.
Candidates must have Australian work rights or we will sponsor the appropriate visa for the successful applicant.
Key Responsibilities:
* Designs, develops, and tests mechanical components, machines, and equipment.
* Analyzes problems to establish design requirements and specifications for mechanical engineering projects.
* Prepares drawings, sketches, diagrams, and specifications to define the design concept.
* Develops detailed cost estimates of each project based on time studies of similar work, materials costs and labor rates or standard costs, such as average rates established by Management Engineer department or Management Engineer manager in accordance with the company standards and legal requirements.
* Determines the design, testing, and manufacturing methods for the mechanical equipment for new products or revisions.
* Prepares specifications to satisfy customer requirements and coordinates with other departments as required to ensure that all specifications are consistent with project goals.
* Ensures that all sub-work is completed within established deadlines as directed by management.
* Reviews drawings, sketches, diagrams and specifications to ensure compliance with company standards and legal requirements prior to approval by management, or makes any changes necessary to conform to those requirements prior to approval by management.
* Serve as a technical resource to the customer, or provide product support or information to the manufacturing department.
* Recommend methods and systems for improving productivity and efficiency of mechanical engineering activities.
* You will be required to work closely with our clients, engineers, project managers and planners to get the information required to design and produce drawings for construction and fabrication from a 3D model.
* You will be required to work across multidiscipline, Structural, Civil, Piping, Mechanical fields in drafting and work within your qualifications as Mechanical Engineer.
* You will get exposure to many aspects of design drafting, from collecting information via photos, taking site measurements and 3D scanning to producing design drawings for fabrication.

Key Attributes:
* Mechanical Engineering degree.
* Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering is required.
* Drafting qualification and or experience with a minimum of two (2) years.
* Demonstrated experience in developing 3D models in Autodesk Inventor and transforming them into 2D drawings in Layout.
* Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Autodesk Inventor is required for developing 3D models and creating technical drawings.
* Working knowledge of point cloud processing and registration.
* Preferred but not essential engineering background in Structural and or Trade certificate.
* Knowledge in other packages like Scene, DEM, FEA, Edgewise and Reverse Eng., will be seen as beneficial but is not essential.
* Confidence to work independently.
