Companionship Matters
We are seeking dedicated individuals to support our ageing community in metropolitan Adelaide. Volunteers will engage with customers in their own homes, providing companionship and assistance with daily activities that promote positive ageing approaches.
The roles include:
* Social Engagement: facilitating arts, crafts, games, cooking activities, and social outings for isolated customers.
* Phone Support: offering a friendly voice over the phone for lonely and disconnected customers.
* In-Home Connections: one-on-one visits with customers in their homes, fostering meaningful relationships.
* Hospital and Respite Visiting: supporting customers in hospital or respite care settings.
* Administration: assisting Anglicare teams with office-based tasks.
As a volunteer, you can expect to:
* Foster customer independence through social engagement activities.
* Collaborate with a committed team to support older members of the community.
Requirements:
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
* Empathy, compassion, and non-judgmental communication skills.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Willingness to report concerns and adhere to organisational policies and procedures.
