What does the job look like?
The Transport Manager is ultimately responsible for the safe and cost‐effective management of transport operations across our Kemps Creek Distribution Centre (KCDC) and our Wyong Transport site. In this role, you will be accountable for delivering on our customer commitments through the provision of high‐quality service and strong operational efficiency across both locations.
Working collaboratively with our people, all decisions are driven by safety, service and cost. You will partner closely with customers and subcontracting providers to achieve and exceed operational and financial metrics, while ensuring consistency and alignment across sites. The role also takes ownership for identifying and delivering continuous improvement initiatives, developing and coaching team members, and ensuring full compliance with BevChain policies, procedures and safety standards.
* Lead, coach, and develop a high‐performing team, including direct reports and a large subcontractor base
* Manage labour planning, wage control, and resource allocation to meet operational and financial targets
* Take ownership of site‐level P&L performance, ensuring cost‐effective service delivery and alignment to budget
* Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility, NHVL, and all site‐based safety policies through accurate reporting, audits, and risk management
* Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing systems, processes, and policies that enhance operational efficiency and service outcomes
* Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet contractual KPIs and maintain strong customer relationships
Are you the one?
This is a pivotal role requiring a manager with experience within the transport industry. You thrive in a fast‐paced environment and have experience providing leadership and effective commercial and operational decision making. You can demonstrate:
* Experience managing people, medium to large teams (30+) and subcontractor networks
* Proven experience in transport management, ideally with exposure to industrial/unionised sites
* Strong understanding of P&L responsibility, cost control, and commercial decision‐making
* Strong financial acumen, with a history of managing budgets, controlling wages, and driving profitable operations
* Process driven, analytical and methodical
