Expressions of Interest are invited for a temporary full‑time Head of Department (Curriculum) opportunity at Laura State School until 4 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.
This role leads curriculum excellence by driving high‑quality, inclusive curriculum planning and instructional practice that meets the highly individualised curriculum needs of every student. Working collaboratively with staff, you will provide strategic leadership and coaching to strengthen evidence‑informed teaching, personalised learning pathways and student outcomes. Knowledge and experience in primary school reading implementation is essential.
Responsibilities
* Provide curriculum leadership across Kindy – Year 6 to ensure high‑quality, highly individualised teaching and learning aligned to the Australian Curriculum Version 9 and departmental priorities.
* Lead collaborative planning, capability building, and evidence‑informed practice to support students with intellectual disability, autism, complex communication needs and additional health or sensory needs.
Requirements
* Knowledge and experience in primary school reading implementation.
* Applicants must be a current Queensland Government employee to be eligible to apply.
