Join a unique, diverse, nurse-led team. The Mother Baby Unit (MBU) offers multidisciplinary inpatient care for consumers with perinatal mental illness, including sleep and settling issues, from conception to 12 months postpartum.
We are a two-bed unit, operational 24/7, located within RHH K block. We work fully rotational shifts and promote a family-friendly work environment. Our focus is on transparent operations and caring for our consumers.
The Role:
1. Engage with consumers, their families, or carers to plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based, person-centered, trauma-informed nursing care.
2. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to conduct assessments, monitor mental states, review treatments, and update care plans in consultation with consumers and their carers.
3. Evaluate nursing strategies' effectiveness and contribute to organizational documentation, policies, and procedures based on best practices and the service model.
4. Complete all clinical documentation accurately and timely, primarily through electronic records systems.
You will need:
* Current knowledge and experience in nursing in acute adult mental health, aligned with legal standards and Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council competencies.
* Understanding of psychosocial and health needs of individuals in mental health settings, maintaining therapeutic relationships.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and proficiency with electronic medical records, and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Details of appointment:
Fixed-term, full-time shift position, 76 hours per fortnight for 24 months. Hours are negotiable.
The process may be used to fill similar vacancies for up to 12 months from the publication date.
Salary:
$78,179 to $105,995 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation. Salary range per Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Progression to Grade 4 ($99,455 - $105,995) may be applicable.
Additional allowances such as Post Graduate Allowance (up to 10%) may be available based on qualifications.
