Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Practitioner to join our team as a Specialist Lead in General Practice.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our medical education unit, providing educational leadership and oversight of the General Practice curriculum across all five years of the MBBS. You will work closely with the Director Medical Education to provide expertise and ongoing review and development of curriculum objectives and content for Years 1-5.
As a Specialist Lead in General Practice, you will be responsible for reviewing and updating existing curriculum objectives and related learning and teaching documents across the five years of the MBBS course. You will also contribute to the development of appropriate student learning resources, conduct face-to-face and online teaching, and participate in medical education unit committee meetings.
Your career history should showcase your professional expertise and excellence in teaching in the field of General Practice. A good understanding of the student learning experience through high-quality, effective teaching practice and curriculum design is essential.
To be successful in this role, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role. Visa sponsorship situations may be considered in limited circumstances.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and update existing curriculum objectives and related learning and teaching documents across the five years of the MBBS course.
* Contribute to the development of appropriate student learning resources.
* Conduct face-to-face and online teaching during Back to Campus weeks and during the year (where required) in Years 4 and 5.
* Participate in medical education unit committee meetings to encourage cross-specialty educational input and take the lead on curriculum debate regarding your specialty area.
Requirements
* FRACGP or equivalency for registration in Australia.
* A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline is preferred.
* Demonstrated academic leadership experience in the discipline/profession and in community engagement.
* Commitment to excellence in teaching.
* High-level communication and interpersonal skills.
