Mechanical Design Draftsperson
The Mechanical Draftsperson is responsible for producing accurate 3D models, assembly drawings and manufacturing documentation using AutoDesk Inventor. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing and sales teams, you will translate customer requirements into practical design solutions, ensure compliance with relevant standards, and support the full design‑to‑production workflow. This role is essential in ensuring high‑quality, manufacturable and cost‑effective outcomes across both standard and custom product designs.
What You'll Do
* Create detailed 3D models, assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings
* Prepare GA drawings, layout concepts, installation schematics and customer documentation
* Manage drawing revisions, BOMs and file control
* Support manufacturing with clear drawing packs, CAM‑ready outputs and timely clarification of queries
* Perform basic design checks, site measurements and update models/drawings accordingly
* Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sales and supply chain to deliver accurate, cost‑effective design solutions
What You'll Bring
* Solid experience using PDM systems to produce accurate 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
* Strong understanding of GD&T, fabrication processes and drafting standards
* Ability to manage BOMs, revisions and data control through PDM systems such as AutoDesk Vault
* Excellent attention to detail, organisation and the ability to work across multiple projects
* Strong communication and teamwork, with the ability to engage with engineering, manufacturing and customers
