Derwent Distillery is a fast growing, small, independent craft distillery with a passion for sustainable production and community collaboration. We want someone to help us share our story This new role within the distillery will oversee the cellar door, and assist at events and distillery production as required. You will be reporting to the Head Distiller and your key responsibilities will be:
* Overseeing the day to day operation of the Derwent Distillery Cellar Door
* Prepare and report monthly stock take
* Preparing all orders, event stock & collections before COB
* Assisting production team when required
* Hosting daily distillery tours
* Attending offsite events, markets and activities
* Collating onsite media content for distribution by the Marketing Manager
Projects you will be overseeing include:
* Development of tours at Derwent Distillery
* Coordinating onsite events and collaborations with local businesses
* Growing onsite visitation and offsite event preparation.
Derwent Distillery is a family-run and owned distillery which began distilling spirits in 2021. It has now created a wide variety of gins, liqueurs and single malt whisky which is well known both within Tasmania and nationally. They are now looking to grow their visitor and customer service experience with guests and customers.
This role would require successful applicants to work at a variety of locations including Derwent Distillery's Cellar Door in Dromedary, Salamanca Market and other offsite events when needed. Applicants will need to have proven high quality customer service experience, a fantastic work attitude and friendly persona.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Minimum 2 years customer service experience in retail or hospitality
* Strong communication and presentation skills for conducting tours
* Experience with cash handling and point-of-sale systems
* Basic computer skills for stock management and reporting
* Physical ability to lift up to 20kg for event setup and stock handling
You must hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, or be willing to obtain one before starting.
Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
A current driver's licence and reliable transport are essential due to multiple work locations including markets and offsite events.
Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and varying hours for markets and events is required.
