Ellenbrook Secondary College seeks a passionate and dedicated Music teacher to join our team, with a focus on contemporary and general music. This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026. The school offers a Certificate III in Music Industries, and a qualification to deliver this course is highly recommended. 
We also offer Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Music, and a skillset in both pathways is desired. We are a Specialist Music and Voice school and develop students from Year 7 through high school, with opportunities for instrumental and vocal development, performances, and community engagement.

Responsibilities 
- Teach music with a focus on contemporary and general music.
- Possess or develop the ability to deliver the Certificate III in Music Industries pathway and/or ATAR Music as appropriate.
- Lead and coordinate the Specialist Music Program (IMSS) and manage administrative tasks related to the program, with some time release allocated for these duties.
- Communicate clearly with staff, students and parents about music studies, lesson requirements and program expectations.
- Engage with the Arts learning area’s extracurricular activities and support music-related events, performances, and community partnerships (including ANZAC day practices with RSLWA).
- Contribute to maintaining a positive school culture and supporting student passion and skill development in music theory and instrumental performance.
Qualifications and Experience 
- Passion for secondary education and the desire to impart music knowledge to adolescent students.
- Self-motivated with willingness to embrace new opportunities.
- Experience teaching music in a secondary school; IMSS management and performance setup/coordination is highly desirable.
- High-level knowledge of the curriculum area and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to coordinate and uphold the Specialist Music Program and manage associated administrative tasks; some time release may be required.

- Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.

- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
