Position Profile
The position of Clinical Nurse Manager promotes and maintains collaborative relationships with clients, carers, peers, visitors, medical staff and other members of the health care team through effective nursing clinical leadership. The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for standards of nursing practice and monitoring client/patient care in the area of responsibility.
To Be Successful You Will Have
- Eligibility for registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated well developed clinical, managerial and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate and manage human and material resources and the achievement of agreed strategic outcomes.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Medicines and Poisons Act 2014, Medicines and Poisons Regulations 2016, and Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act 2010.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of clinical governance principles including continuous quality improvement principles, managing change, clinical risk management and accreditation processes.
- Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to utilise information systems.
- Current knowledge of legislative and policy obligations for Nursing practice, Equal Opportunity, Public Sector Standards, Disability Services, Aboriginal Cultural Respect Framework and Occupational Safety and Health and how these impact on employment and service delivery.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other “similar” vacancies throughout the health service.
