About The Project
The Beveridge Intermodal project is a landmark freight and logistics development in Victoria, set to play a critical role in Australia's national supply chain. Located in Melbourne's north, this major infrastructure project will deliver an integrated intermodal terminal, connecting road and rail to improve freight efficiency, reduce congestion, and support long‐term economic growth.
Delivered within a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, the project brings together rail systems, civil works, and logistics interfaces to create a nationally significant freight hub.
About The Role
We are seeking a Site Engineer – Signalling to support the delivery of signalling works across the project.
Reporting to the Project Engineer – Signalling, you will play a key role in coordinating site activities, supporting subcontractor performance, and ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with programme requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‐career signalling engineer to build hands‐on experience within a large‐scale rail project environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate onsite and offsite signalling works to achieve safety, quality, and programme outcomes
- Support short- and medium-term planning, including sequencing and resource allocation
- Supervise subcontractors and labour to ensure delivery aligns with scope, budget, and schedule
- Ensure works comply with design documentation, standards, ITPs, and QA/QC requirements
- Manage permits, rail access, SWMS, AMS, and protection requirements; maintain accurate project records, including drawings, registers, and non‐conformance tracking
- Assist with procurement, cost tracking, progress reporting, and variations
- Coordinate interfaces across civil, track, electrical, overhead, and communications disciplines
- Champion a strong safety culture and contribute to a high‐performing site team
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred; Mechanical or Civil considered)
- Minimum 2 years' post‐graduate experience, ideally within rail or signalling projects
- Site‐based experience in infrastructure or major project environments
- Familiarity with Australian rail signalling systems and standards
- RIW eligibility (Signal Constructor L1) or willingness to obtain
- Strong organisational, communication, and coordination skills
- Proactive mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
