Quality Assurance & Safety Officer – Darwin

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Quality Assurance & Safety Officer to help us maintain the highest standards across our operations.
About the Role
This role is responsible for ensuring all safety, quality, and compliance requirements are met in accordance with company procedures and standards. You'll lead the development and implementation of WHSE programs, manage documentation, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing site.
While primarily office and workshop-based, you may also assist with practical safety measures such as setting up exclusion zones, tagging equipment, and ensuring all work areas meet compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert WHSE and quality assurance support across all manufacturing operations.
* Maintain and improve the company's Quality and Safety Management Systems.
* Conduct internal audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
* Investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
* Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and emergency drills.
* Support training and mentoring to strengthen the safety culture across the workforce.
* Manage and monitor workers' compensation and return-to-work programs.
* Collaborate with leadership to ensure continuous improvement in safety and quality outcomes.
About You
You're detail-focused, proactive, and take pride in fostering a culture where safety and quality are non-negotiable. You communicate clearly, work collaboratively, and are comfortable balancing on-the-ground engagement with system management.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* C Class Driver's Licence
* Relevant WHSE qualification (minimum Cert IV)
* Manufacturing or industrial safety experience
* First Aid Certificate
* Strong understanding of WHS legislation, codes, and standards
* Solid computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
* Prior experience in a Quality or WHSE role
* Certified test and tag Officer or ability to obtain
