OH&S Officer
We currently have an exciting new part‐time opportunity for an OH&S Officer to join the People & Culture team! The role will be based at our head office in Keysborough.
Responsibilities:
* Support compliance with OHS legislation, regulations, standards and WorkSafe guidance
* Assist with WorkSafe inspections, audits and regulatory enquiries
* Monitor legislative changes and provide advice on required actions
* Participate in incident investigations and support root‐cause analysis and corrective actions
* Ensure notifiable incidents are reported to WorkSafe within required timeframes
* Support effective consultation with employees and Health & Safety Representatives
* Assist the OHS Committee with preparation, follow‐up and continuous improvement actions
* Contribute to a positive safety culture through guidance, coaching and safe‐leadership support
* Conduct site inspections and participate in safety audits
* Maintain WHS documentation including SOPs, SWMS and safety registers
* Collect and report OHS data, trends and performance indicators
* Build strong working relationships across the organisation to support safe work practices
* Contribute to the development and review of OHS policies, procedures and programs
Required qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
* Formal qualification in OHS, WHS or related discipline
* Demonstrated knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic) and associated Regulations
* Knowledge of psychosocial hazard management
* Ability to analyse incidents and identify corrective and preventive actions
* Experience working with Health and Safety Representatives and Committees
* Ability to provide practical, solutions‐focused OHS advice to leaders and employees
* Strong communication, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills
* High level of organization skills and attention to detail
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to enable effective and appropriate interaction at all levels within the organisation
* Proactive and adaptable attitude with a demonstrated professional approach to work
* High level of computer literacy
* Commitment to the principles of WHS, EEO, Cultural Diversity and all relevant legislation
Work pattern: 8:30am – 4:36pm, 3 days per week, worked on any day.
