About Our Client:
A leading Earthmoving Contractor, located in the Southwest, with a strong reputation for delivering a wide range of services including construction of access roads, tailing dams, road works, and rehabilitation earthworks throughout Western Australia for 50+ years.
Due to continued growth, an exciting new opportunity has become available for an experienced Operations Manager to join the team on a permanent basis.
The Role:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Civil and Mining operations locally and onsite. Working closely with the Head of Operations GM to provide leadership, project coordination, budgets, project resources and ensure the successful execution of projects.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Manage, coordinate, and assist with the day-to-day operations, onsite project works and provide ongoing technical support.
* Maintain a professional working relationship with all internal staff, Mine Site personnel, customers, and stakeholders.
* Promote a culture of safety within the workforce by leading by example and supporting safety policies and procedures.
* Report any safety suggestions, hazards, or risk management incidents.
* Lead, encourage, motivate staff, and promote a teamwork culture.
* Provide performance improvements, monitoring and feedback to the operational teams, without re-creating the wheel.
* Working with the head of operations GM, assist in the preparation of tenders, quotes, and client presentations.
* Conduct regular site visits,
Qualifications, Skills, Attributes and Experience required:
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position with a proven track record for operational and site management.
* Strong ability to lead by example, and build key partnerships with clients, suppliers, and employees.
* Strong leadership, time management and planning skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience working with mining, civil and earthworks.
* Good knowledge and practical application of workplace Occupational Health & Safety.
* Hold a current and clear National Police Certificate (obtained within the last 12 months).
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.
* Flexibility to travel to site regularly.
