We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a Tier 1 mining client in the Northern Bowen Basin on a full‐time basis, overseeing projects within the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP). This is a key role focused on delivering fixed plant projects safely, on time, and within budget in a high‐performing operational environment.
This role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of CHPP and fixed plant projects, with a strong focus on shutdown execution, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, develop and deliver CHPP and fixed plant projects from planning through to execution and close‐out
* Coordinate and manage shutdown scopes, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
* Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
* Liaise with site stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams
* Ensure compliance with site safety standards, procedures, and statutory requirements
* Utilise SAP for work management, planning, and reporting
* Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
About You
* Proven experience as a Project Manager within mining, ideally in CHPP or fixed plant environments
* Strong experience managing and executing shutdowns
* Proficiency in SAP – must have
* Project Management qualifications – highly regarded
* Trade background – must have
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work in a fast‐paced, operational mining environment
