We have several opportunities in the Hume region covering Wagga Wagga for Complex Disability Support Workers to join our care team. This team works across Out of Home Care (OOHC) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), supporting individuals with challenging behaviours with a focus on trauma-informed care and trauma recovery.
Kirinari provides essential care to enrich the lives of our clients, employing over 1000 staff across NSW, VIC, and Tasmania.
About the Position
The Complex Care Team offers services to OOHC/Voluntary OOHC and NDIS participants, supporting clients across various settings such as homes, schools, hospitals, and community centers. The role involves working within Kirinari's strength-based, trauma-informed model of care to ensure client safety and support growth, often with clients experiencing complex trauma and behavioural needs.
This position is suitable for applicants new to the industry or with experience in support services involving challenging behaviours or high physical needs.
About You
* A qualification in Community Services (Cert IV) is highly regarded.
* Interest in youth work, mental health, and disability support.
* Understanding of trauma-informed practices and NSW Child Safe Standards.
* Experience in therapeutic care and working with complex trauma is preferred.
* Ability to obtain NDIS Workers Screen Check and NSW Working with Children Check.
* Complete a National Criminal History Check (paid by employer).
* Proficiency with computers, software, and smartphones.
* Valid Driver's Licence.
