Site based Building Project Officer / Building Engineer/ Project Manager/ Site Engineer – Major Community Building Infrastructure Location: Melbourne's West Contract: 6 months initial (with potential extension up to 2 years) Randstad is proud to be working with a leading Victorian council in Melbourne's West to recruit an experienced Site based Project Manager to oversee the delivery of major community infrastructure projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the construction phase of high-profile community developments including a new aquatic centre and other library, pavilions and other Council related building projects.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the construction phase of major capital works projects.
Coordinate and liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones and quality standards are achieved.
Monitor project progress, complete regular site inspections, and address issues or risks to maintain timelines.
Manage contracts, variations, and procurement activities in alignment with council policies and regulations.
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, building codes, and environmental regulations.
Prepare and deliver project reports and presentations for senior management and council committees.
Facilitate strong communication and collaboration across project teams, community groups, and stakeholders.
Implement effective risk management strategies and resolve project-related conflicts.
About You Tertiary qualification in Building Construction, Architecture, Project Management, Engineering or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in project and/or construction management.
(Site based experience is required)
Proven ability to deliver Capital Works Projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Strong stakeholder and contractor management capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Local Government or council project management experience (highly regarded).
Current driver's licence.
