Join our client, a leading non-profit organisation, as a
Senior Full Stack Software Engineer - Python+React, on a 12 month fixed term hire
to help transform cancer treatment across Australia through cutting-edge technology.
In this full-time role based in Sydney with hybrid working options, you will be a key technical leader in the Information Technology team.
Your expertise in software development using Python, Django, React, and JavaScript will help evolve critical custom applications supporting precision oncology research and clinical trials.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing, building, testing, and securing new and existing custom software systems and integrations aligned with clinical and research programs.
* Leading front-end development while contributing across the full software lifecycle including architecture, QA, and operations.
* Implementing and maintaining DevOps/DevSecOps pipelines using AWS, Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD tools, and Bitbucket to ensure secure and efficient deployments.
* Supporting
data engineering
initiatives on AWS platforms such as Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, and Athena, collaborating with the Data and Analytics teams.
* Driving innovation in software engineering practices and mentoring team members.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience working in complex software environments, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a passion for contributing to meaningful healthcare outcomes.
Familiarity with information security frameworks like
NIST CSF and ISO27001/ISO27002
is essential.
Your technical toolkit should include:
* Advanced proficiency with
Python, Django, Flask, React, RESTful APIs, and front-end frameworks
.
* Experience with cloud infrastructure and
infrastructure as code
using AWS services and tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
* Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and agile project methodologies.
* Database experience with MySQL or similar relational databases hosted on AWS RDS.
Desirable experience includes genomics, healthcare IT, and AI/ML technologies.
