MJD Recruitment is working with a highly regarded National law firm on a temporary contract requirement within their Brisbane office. This is a role for someone who can step in, pick things up quickly and add value from day one. Supporting a high performing team across regulatory, litigation and investigation matters, you’ll be exposed to complex and fast-moving work that requires strong attention to detail and responsiveness. With an immediate start required, this is not a role with a long runway. It will suit an experienced Legal Assistant who is confident, capable and ready to step in seamlessly. The contract will run through to end of financial year (July 2026), offering strong stability once you’re in. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll be relied upon to keep things moving, including: Managing files from open through to close Drafting, formatting and amending legal documents Coordinating billing, reporting and matter management Preparing briefs and supporting document collation Diary, meeting and travel coordination Liaising with internal teams, clients and external stakeholders This is a hands-on role where speed, accuracy and ownership matter. What We Need This role requires someone who can hit the ground running so you’ll already have: Experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary (essential) Exposure to litigation, regulatory or investigation work (highly advantageous) The ability to manage competing priorities without constant direction Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach Confidence using legal systems and processes Availability is critical.
