To support this growth, we are seeking a Senior Ecologist who is looking to progress their career in ecological consulting, with our Sydney ecology team. Our ideal candidate would have previous experience as an ecological consultant, would enjoy dealing with clients and managing projects, and would have sound ecological survey, reporting and assessment skills. You would have a passion for field work and a drive for delivering high quality outcomes. At a national level, you would participate or drive technical working groups and contribute to the delivery of ecological field programs and reporting. As a Senior Ecologist, you will work closely with our NSW Ecology Manager and other key personnel to deliver quality project outcomes. About you We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Ecologist with approximately 5+ years of experience (or similar) who has: A degree/post graduate qualification in environmental science, botany, zoology, environmental science (or similar). Terrestrial flora survey experience and strong botanical identification skills, including the capacity to plan surveys and coordinate field teams, is desirable. Prior experience and demonstrated knowledge of NSW Plant Community Types is highly regarded. A willingness to support the team on all ecological survey types, including fauna surveys. Demonstrated experience in planning and management of ecological surveys for large scale development or environmental offsetting projects. Project management skills will be highly regarded. An ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including clients and government agencies, as well as other staff. Demonstrated experience in the collection and interpretation of ecological and spatial data. Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience in preparing and reviewing reports. Willingness to take responsibility for delivery of reports to final quality. A high level of motivation and self-direction. Be willing to work flexible hours and travel for work.
