Our client is a leading marine and piling contractor delivering complex waterfront, structural, and nearshore civil projects across Australia. With a strong pipeline of major works underway, they are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer with proven sheet piling and tubular piling experience to take a key role across multiple marine infrastructure projects.
This role suits someone who thrives in challenging marine environments and enjoys owning technical, commercial, and site-based engineering responsibilities end-to-end. You'll support the Project Manager while leading engineers, subcontractors and supervisors across piling, wharf structures, cofferdams, jetty works and temporary overwater construction methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead engineering delivery across marine civil works, including sheet piling, tubular piling, driven piles and overwater foundations.
* Oversee methodology, staging, lift studies and construction sequencing for piling and marine structures.
* Manage budgets, forecasting, commercial reporting and cost control.
* Drive QA, ITPs, verification checks and compliance with design specifications.
* Support procurement, subcontractor engagement and materials/equipment tracking.
* Coordinate temporary works design reviews, risk assessments and engineering controls.
* Supervise junior engineers and support a strong safety-first culture onsite.
* Liaise with client representatives, maritime authorities and key project stakeholders.
* Provide progress reporting, program updates, technical advice and on-site problem solving.
About You
* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar.
* Must have hands‑on project experience with sheet piling and tubular piling.
* Strong background in marine and nearshore infrastructure delivery.
* Demonstrated capability in managing subcontractors, cost control and technical compliance.
* Confident in complex marine environments – barges, crane operations, cofferdams and temporary works.
* Strong communicator with leadership capability and a proactive approach to delivery.
* Comfortable with FIFO/DIDO rosters where required.
