Job Description
The role
We’re looking for a commercially savvy leader to manage credit risk and compliance across Business Banking and Commercial Lending. This role oversees credit assessments for both consumer and commercial applications, supports lending teams, and ensures alignment with internal policies, legislation, and service standards.
You’ll play a key role in managing property valuation risks, credit quality, and identifying opportunities for process improvement. Strong communication, negotiation skills, and lending experience are essential, along with alignment to our strategic goals and support the Credit Risk framework.
In this role, you will
* Help achieve and monitor decision turn-around times meeting the Bank’s objectives.
* Contribute and identify potential risk issues and make recommendations to alter the Bank’s Lending Policies, process or work practices to reduce risk.
* Assessment of consumer and commercial applications for credit in accordance with Beyond Bank’s Lending Policies.
* Have the ability to interpret legislation and trends relevant to the Beyond Bank’s operations to identify, communicate, and take a proactive outward looking role in the Bank’s credit risk operations to comply with new and existing lending requirements
* Manages the delivery of the Business Banking Policies .
* Demonstrating commitment to effective risk management compliance, aligning credit risk objectives with business objectives, and identifying and assessing compliance obligations.
* Experienced, qualified and competent credit risk professional, capable of representing Beyond Bank in a variety of internal and external credit forums
Qualifications
About you
We’re seeking a strategic leader with strong business acumen, residential lending expertise, and confident decision-making skills. Operating nationally with remote oversight, this role requires the ability to represent the credit function at senior levels—including executives and the Credit Risk Committee—in the absence of the National Credit Manager.
* A minimum 5 years’ experience in a lending background or related discipline.
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant business or compliance related discipline (e.g. Business Commerce or Accounting) is considered to be desirable.

By joining the Credit Assessment team you will be involved in the day-to-day assessment of Business, Commercial and Consumer loan applications submitted by Loan consultants.
In addition, the position provides support to Front Line Lending staff regarding credit risk for both consumer and commercial loan applications along with Business Banking Annual Reviews.
