We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Legal Officer to join our team in providing specialist expertise and advice on community legal education, outreach and client representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities across NSW.
The role involves the development of law reform policies and responses as they relate to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide specialist expertise and advice to the organisation on community legal education, outreach and client representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities;
* Develop law reform policies and responses as they relate to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities;
* Work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team to achieve organisational goals;
* Develop key relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
* Communicate clearly and effectively with diverse groups of people;
Requirements:
* Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander;
* Be admitted or eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW;
* Hold a current NSW Practising Certificate;
* Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19;
* Be willing to undergo a Criminal Record Check and/or Working with Children Check.
