The position is FIFO from Perth, Darwin, or Broome to site or DIDO from Onslow, Exmouth, Karratha, or Dampier. Paulsens is located in the Ashburton Basin of the Eastern Pilbara region, 211kms inland east of Onslow and 180km west of Paraburdoo. Flights are to Onslow or Paraburdoo, then a two-hour transport to site.
The roster is 15/13, day shift only.
About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Boilermaker (UG) interested in joining our team at our Paulsens site.
This position is responsible for:
* Complete daily scheduled preventative and routine boiler making maintenance activities, including fabrication, repairs and general welding, as recommended by the Original Equipment Manufacturer of plant equipment.
* Weld, fabricate and repair fixed plant and structural components.
* Maintain bogger and loader buckets, truck tubs, guards, handrails, mono-pump skids, tanks, underground vent walls and doors.
* Carry out basic maintenance outside of welding duties when required.
* Complete all prestart checks on mobile equipment/vehicle's, welders, oxy and acetylene equipment, cutting equipment, lifting equipment, overhead cranes and mobile plant equipment.
* Maintain a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures and ensure that these are consistently adhered to when carrying out maintenance tasks.
* Conduct regular stocktaking steel supplies and liaise with supply personnel to obtain necessary parts and equipment for maintenance and repairs ensuring the return of unused parts to the store after planned and scheduled work has been completed.
* Assess the assigned job to obtain the required tools and equipment to complete the work and submit requisition orders for required mechanical components, to ensure maintenance repairs are conducted in a timely manner and to required site standards.
About You
* Trade Certificate III in Engineering – Boiler making and Fabrication Trade, or equivalent.
* Multiskilled essential in an area of mechanical fitting or fabrication (ie fabrication, machining, hydraulics, pneumatics or welding).
* Underground mining experience.
* Experience in the maintenance of mechanical plant equipment commonly used in underground mining and earth moving.
* Operate Telehandler/IT, forklift, EWP, bobcat and loader.
* Be able to realign buckets and tubs, replace wear packages etc. without OEM drawings and generate drawings for future use.
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings, ability to read and interpret drawings and fabricate to specifications.
* Experience in pipe and structural steel fabrication, sheet metal and welding/repairs of cast materials an advantage.
