**The role**
As Manager Safety and Wellbeing, you will lead Gippsland Water's safety and wellbeing strategy, systems, and culture. Reporting to the General Manager People and Customer, this is a highly visible and strategic leadership position with strong engagement across the Board, Executive and senior leaders.

You will shape the future of safety at Gippsland Water by:

- Delivering a fit-for-purpose safety management system
- Leading a high-performing team with empathy and clarity
- Embedding safe systems of work and psychosocial risk management
- Driving safety leadership and cultural uplift initiatives
- Championing wellbeing as core to organisational performance

This is a rare opportunity to influence from the inside out - helping an organisation with deep community roots to evolve into a model of safety leadership in the water sector.

**About You**

You are a values-driven leader who combines strategic thinking with a collaborative, people-first approach. You know that safe workplaces are built on trust, engagement, and strong systems.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

- Extensive experience leading safety, health and wellbeing functions in complex or high-risk settings
- A strong track record delivering safety culture and system improvements
- The ability to influence with credibility across executives, regulators, and operational teams
- A passion for developing people and creating inclusive, empowered cultures
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. Safety, Risk, Human Factors, Psychology, or similar)

Experience with enterprise safety systems, psychosocial hazard management, or public sector/regulatory engagement will be highly regarded.
