Ocean Road Primary School (PS) is a welcoming, inclusive learning community where classroom teachers are supported to build strong relationships, deliver high‐impact teaching, and make a genuine difference in the lives of children. Guided by our commitment to Put Children First, we create learning environments where students feel safe, connected and challenged to succeed.

Our teachers work collaboratively to know their learners well, identify strengths and needs, and respond with high expectations, explicit instruction and engaging learning experiences. Whole‐school approaches, collective teacher efficacy and reflective practice are central to our work, ensuring consistency while valuing professional autonomy and innovation in the classroom.

With approximately 600 students from diverse socio‐economic backgrounds, Ocean Road PS values inclusive practice, flexibility and a strengths‐based approach to teaching and learning. The health and wellbeing of both staff and students is prioritised, supported by a culture of trust, kindness, respect, responsibility and resilience. Teachers are encouraged to exercise agency, contribute meaningfully to school improvement, and grow professionally in a supportive, team‐oriented environment.

The Role

As a classroom teacher at Ocean Road PS, you should create engaging, inclusive learning environments where curiosity is encouraged and learning is authentic, hands‐on and purposeful. Teachers are expected to understand the power of play, inquiry and questioning to promote problem‐solving, collaboration, and critical and creative thinking. In the Early Years, this includes implementing high‐quality play‐based learning aligned to system and school expectations.

Teachers at Ocean Road PS deliver a high‐quality education aligned to the Western Australian Curriculum through an inquiry‐based, differentiated approach that responds to the strengths and needs of all learners. You will work collaboratively within Professional Learning Communities to plan, assess, moderate and reflect on practice, contributing to collective teacher efficacy and continuous school improvement.

The successful applicant would build strong, trusting relationships with students, families and colleagues, and champion inclusive practice that ensures every child experiences success. Teachers are responsible for planning and delivering differentiated and modified programs to support, extend and engage learners, and will work collaboratively with support staff and external agencies as required.
