Our client, Plated Café and Restaurant, is seeking an experienced Chef to join their kitchen team on a full-time basis at their establishment in Point Lonsdale, Victoria 3225. Plated Cafe and Restaurant offers a vibrant all-day dining experience with something for everyone, may it be starting the morning with smashed avocado or a veggie breakfast, enjoying the beach breeze with a perfectly brewed coffee, or satisfying lunchtime cravings with a burger, salad, or souvlaki.
The offered salary for the sought Chef role ranges from $70,000 to $80,000 per annum, plus superannuation.
For the role, responsibilities include:
•Designing menus that balance creativity, preferences, and cost, while estimating food and labour expenses to stay within budget.
•Coordinating the purchase of food supplies to guarantee a steady stock of fresh, quality ingredients.
•Monitoring the quality of dishes from preparation to plating to ensure they meet standards.
•Working with Managers, Dietitians, kitchen, and service staff to resolve food preparation issues and ensure operations.
•Teaching proper cooking methods and offering advice to maintain consistency and quality dishes.
•Cooking and preparing meals according to menu requirements, ensuring excellent taste and presentation.
•Upholding strict hygiene and food safety standards to keep the kitchen clean and safe.
•Assisting in recruiting, training, and mentoring kitchen staff to develop a capable team.
•Overseeing freezing and preservation of ingredients to minimise waste and prolong freshness.
•Managing kitchen inventory and ensuring timely stock rotation to reduce spoilage.
•Creating daily specials and adapting menus based on seasonal availability and customer feedback.
•Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and conducting regular kitchen inspections.
Qualifications:
•Must have at least three (3) years of professional Chef experience in Australia.
•Should possess Certificates III and IV in Commercial Cookery, as well as a Diploma of Hospitality Management.
•Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred.
