This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026

Located attractively near the beach, Port Hedland Primary School (PS) is a Level 5 school of choice in the Hedland area with an enrolment base of 490 students. Our families mainly encompass those employed in the mining industry and in professional positions in the region.

The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and cutting-edge Science Teacher who is willing to promote an inclusive program across all year levels, Pre-School – Year 6, in our dedicated Science room. You will engage with the school community promoting Science and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) across the school. You will be required to work as part of a team within the school and will have opportunities to moderate across the Hedland Schools network.
As this is a permanent position we are looking for some-one who not only works well across all year levels but also has good classroom management skills and is willing to let their passion for science inspire students.
We are looking for applicants who are relationship focused and able to exhibit strong interpersonal skills while working collaboratively in a team environment. In this role, the successful applicant is encouraged to deliver an engaging and differentiated Science curriculum aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum, catering to the diverse abilities of all students. The successful applicant is encouraged to foster an inclusive environment that supports students to reach their full potential, applying evidence-based teaching and differentiation strategies to enhance student outcomes.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
