* Based in the Quantum and Nano Technology Group (QuaNTeG) in the School of Chemical Engineering at the Adelaide City Campus
* Full-time, fixed term contract for 24 months with the possibility of extension dependent on funding
* Salary Range: $102,024 - $109,307 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

In this role, you will advance Australia's sovereign quantum capability by developing sophisticated theoretical models and computational tools that underpin next‐generation superconducting quantum materials and devices research. Your contributions will strengthen Adelaide's leadership in quantum science and support national priorities in emerging quantum technologies and defence innovation.

The role requires deep expertise in computational electromagnetic (EM) tools and theoretical quantum materials, along with the ability to translate advanced models into practical experimental applications.

Responsibilities

You will develop and refine sophisticated computational tools and theoretical models, while engaging with experimental teams to translate these models into real‐world quantum materials and sensor applications. You will contribute to cutting‐edge theoretical research within a world‐advanced sovereign quantum materials design and fabrication facility.

Qualifications

* A PhD in Computational Quantum Physics, and good knowledge in the Physics of Quantum devices.
* Knowledge in Advanced Physical Models such as those typical used in Many‐Body physics, Superconducting Quantum field theories and RF Quantum Optics.
* Interests in exploring novel kinds of Quantum Sensors such as Superconducting Quantum Interferometers and Cavity Magnonics Interferometers.
* Ability to maintain and develop tools for more advanced experiments using COMSOL, Python, Julia, MATLAB and other software packages.
