Teachers engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills, effectively engaging students and improving their learning.
As teachers gain experience, their contribution to the school program beyond the classroom increases. Range 2
– Classroom teachers play a significant role in assisting the school to improve student performance and educational outcomes. They contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities, focus on increasing the knowledge base of staff, and provide expert advice about content, processes and strategies. They supervise and train student teachers and assist staff in using student data to inform teaching approaches.
Range 1
– Classroom teachers further develop skills and competencies to become effective practitioners under the guidance of more experienced teachers. They are responsible for teaching their own classes, managing classroom, subject content and teaching practice, and may also supervise student teachers. They participate in policy development, project teams and co-curriculum activities.
