Food Van Manager / Café Cook – Coffee Works
Coffee Works is looking for a passionate, creative, and highly organised food professional to take ownership of our food van operation.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with either formal culinary training or strong, relevant industry experience. If you love fast-paced environments, take pride in your food, and enjoy working as part of a tight-knit team—we want to hear from you.
About the Role
* You will be responsible for managing all aspects of our food van, including:
* Daily food preparation and service
* Maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards
* Stock control and ordering
* Managing profit & loss for the food operation
* Creating and evolving a small, dynamic menu
* Training and mentoring another staff member
This is a fast-moving, customer-facing role. You will work closely with the front of house team to ensure smooth service, and will also take orders and interact directly with customers.
About You
* Culinary qualification or strong café/kitchen experience
* Excellent understanding of food safety and kitchen systems
* Able to work quickly without compromising quality
* Creative and proactive with menu ideas
* Strong organisational and leadership skills
* Comfortable managing costs, stock, and performance
* A team player who works collaboratively with front of house staff
* Confident engaging with customers and providing great service
* Adaptable and willing to support general café operations when required
The Business
Coffee Works is a seasonal business, so flexibility is essential. During quieter periods, you will transition into general café duties to ensure consistent hours year-round.
Hours
Between 7:00am – 4:00pm
Across 7 days
Weekend availability is essential
Flexibility offered if you can train a team member to cover your days off
