We’re seeking an experienced Accounts Team Lead / Accounts Manager / Senior Accounts Officer to provide guidance to a small, close‑knit team of three. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will manage weekly payroll processing, assist with month‑end tasks and reporting, and act as a back‑up for AP, AR, and Purchasing.

About the Role
This role provides key support across the finance function. You will:
* Assist with month‑end accounts, balance sheets, P&L analysis, and Finance Manager support
* Process weekly payroll for approximately 60 employees
* Support HR‑related tasks, including onboarding and employee record updates
* Handle ad‑hoc accounts and administrative tasks as required
You’ll be a trusted point of contact for payroll and accounts matters, supporting the small accounts team and helping ensure smooth workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
* Process weekly payroll accurately and on time for approximately 60 employees
* Review timesheets and resolve discrepancies
* Maintain payroll records and employee data
* Assist with onboarding documentation and employee updates
* Manage PAYG, STP, superannuation, payroll tax, and year‑end processes
Month‑End Tasks
* Preparation of month‑end journals
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Reviewing the P&L
* Assisting the Finance Manager with management reports
* Maintain registers and records
Accounts – AP & AR Support
* Lead and back up accounts officers with AP, AR, and bank reconciliations
* Provide purchasing support when required
Team Guidance & Troubleshooting
* Act as the go‑to person for complex or unusual accounting issues
About You
* 3–5+ years’ experience in a similar accounts role
* Strong payroll knowledge and confidence processing weekly payroll for approximately 60 employees
* Solid understanding of AP, AR, and general ledger basics
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
* Confident communicating with internal teams and external suppliers
* Enjoys being hands‑on and guiding a small, collaborative team
* Team player
* Experience in manufacturing, trades, or construction is helpful but not essential
