Office of the University Solicitor – Corporate Services Division, CQUniversity Rockhampton North (relocation support available).
Responsibilities Deliver timely, practical legal advice and manage complex legal matters.
Support the University Solicitor on key projects and priorities.
Interpret legislation, draft contracts, and represent clients in legal proceedings as needed.
Collaborate with faculties and divisions to proactively manage legal risk and enable informed decision-making.
Position Details Location: CQUniversity Rockhampton North (Relocation support available) Department: Office of the University Solicitor – Corporate Services Division Seniority: Higher Education Worker Level 9 Employment type: Continuing, Full-Time Position Requirements Admitted as a Solicitor in Australia, with at least five years' post-admission experience.
Current unregistered Queensland Law Society Practising Certificate, or eligibility to obtain one.
Strong knowledge of Australian commercial and administrative law, including regulatory frameworks and evolving government policy.
Demonstrated legal experience in complex organisations, ideally within higher education.
Ability to deliver ethical, independent legal advice on complex matters.
Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts.
