About the role
The Teaching Fellow will lead unit teaching teams in introductory psychology units in our undergraduate psychology programs (such as HPS121 Introduction to Psychology: Individual and Social Development in our Bachelor of Psychological Science) to deliver unit learning outcomes and continuously improve the student learning experience and outcomes.
Responsibilities
Lead and collaborate on unit teaching teams to develop, review, and refine curricula and learning materials ensuring units are well designed, inclusive, and learner-centred.
Integrate up-to-date discipline knowledge and real-world/industry/research practice into teaching, providing accessible and engaging learning experiences across different delivery modes.
Design and manage assessment tasks and rubrics, give clear criteria and timely feedback, and adapt assessment practices to support student learning and success.
Provide academic and pastoral support to students, guide them to additional support services when needed, and contribute to a culture of teaching excellence through peer collaboration and mentoring of junior colleagues.
Engage in scholarly and pedagogical research, supervise honours and HDR students, pursue external funding and industry partnerships, and contribute to the institution's strategic, community-engagement, and translational impact goals.
Qualifications
Strong track record of teaching large undergraduate introductory psychology courses, including curriculum design, and experience in both face-to-face and online teaching formats.
Emerging or demonstrated record in research/scholarship (e.g. publications and/or success obtaining external research funding), with capacity to contribute to research communities.
Ability to contribute to leadership, research administration, mentoring and collaboration within academic / research settings.
Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build good working relationships with colleagues.
