We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimise the pre-construction function of our growing residential building business. This pivotal role ensures seamless project progression from contract signing to site commencement, driving efficiency, reducing risk, and safeguarding profit margins. 
About the Role 
Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, you’ll lead key operational teams including Estimating, Drafting, Construction Administration, and Sales Packaging. You’ll be responsible for delivering results across three core pillars: Time, Quality, and Revenue, ensuring pre-construction workflows are efficient, accurate, and aligned with broader business goals. 
This is a high-impact role, perfect for someone with a strategic mindset, strong leadership qualities, and a deep understanding of the residential construction lifecycle. 
Key Responsibilities 
- Oversee the full pre-construction pipeline from contract signing to site start. 
- Lead Estimating, Drafting, Construction Admin, and Sales Packaging teams. 
- Identify and resolve process delays, bottlenecks, and cross-functional issues. 
- Use systems like Onsite Companion and Databuild to monitor performance and ensure data compliance. 
- Run weekly team meetings, review KPIs, and drive workflow improvements. 
- Collaborate with senior leaders to manage risk, maintain margins, and support business growth. 
- Lead monthly resource planning and support team development and onboarding. 
What You’ll Bring 
- Deep understanding of the residential construction industry and pre-construction processes. 
- Strong knowledge of BOQs, contract workflows, and site readiness requirements. 
- Proficient in Onsite Companion, Databuild, and construction/project management tools. 
Skills 
- Proven ability to manage complex workflows and solve problems with strategic insight. 
- Excellent leadership and coaching capabilities – you know how to lift team performance. 
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and optimise operations. 
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and supporting client/partner conversations when needed.
