We are seeking an Elekta-trained Engineer to join our team and play a key role in maintaining, optimising, and supporting radiation therapy equipment across our healthcare facilities.
About the Role
As an Elekta Engineer with ME Solutions, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and operational support of Elekta Linear Accelerators (Linacs), Siemens CT and associated radiotherapy equipment. The role also involves technical support for facility operations, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with clinical and technical stakeholders.
This is a specialised position suited to engineers with Elekta experience or training in radiation therapy equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and service specialized medical equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturers' recommendations and industry standards.
* Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on medical devices, including Linacs, CTs, and complementary equipment.
* Manage spare parts inventory and maintain detailed records of modifications and service reports.
* Oversee facility operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient infrastructure management.
* Perform biomedical testing and certifications following AS3551 standards.
* Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to support the quality and compliance framework.
What are we looking for?
Essential:
* Elekta training and/or hands-on experience with Elekta Linear Accelerators.
* Degree or technical qualification in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of radiation therapy systems, safety principles, and workflow.
* Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of medical or radiation-based equipment.
* Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
* Current Australian Driver's Licence.
* Eligibility or current holder of an EPA Radiation User Licence (IA10).
* Eligibility to work in High Voltage area.
* Able to travel interstate when required.
Desirable:
* Experience with radiation therapy facility operations or oncology centre equipment.
* Proficiency with power systems, microwaves, vacuum systems, and control electronics.
* Ability to interpret electronic schematics, service manuals, and circuit diagrams.
* Experience supporting clinical teams in a healthcare environment.
