Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Adabas Database Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimise Adabas database environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database administration, system tuning, backup and recovery, and third-party database tools.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain, monitor, and optimise Adabas database systems.
* Perform routine database maintenance, including backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures.
* Plan and implement the Upgrades and Maintenance of ADABAS, Natural and all related Software AG and 3rd party products at Vendor supported levels.
* Apply patches and emergency fixes to ensure database stability and security.
* Conduct database performance tuning and optimization.
* Utilize database utilities and third-party tools for monitoring and management.
* Support disaster recovery exercises, ensuring database recoverability.
* Collaborate with Mainframe Systems Programmers to address performance and operational issues.
* Provide 24/7 on-call support and maintain documentation for all completed tasks.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Adabas Database Administrator.
* Strong understanding of Adabas database structures, utilities, and performance tuning techniques.
* Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning for Adabas.
* Knowledge of third-party database management and monitoring tools.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
* Must pass background checks compatible with company requirements.
