Job Title

We are seeking a senior chef to join our team in Devonport.

As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting with menu preparation and ensuring adequate supplies are available for expected service.

Maintain excellent presentation standards and cost control by working closely with suppliers to source the best quality products and implementing effective inventory management systems.

Be a leader for the team by setting a positive example and supervising the kitchen in the absence of the Head chef or allocated Chefs. Delegate duties and responsibilities to kitchen employees to ensure service demands are met.

Assist with minimising food waste and develop creative solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel industry, trade qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent, and leadership experience within a professional kitchen environment.

They should also have strong knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP management, and compliance with local health and safety regulations.

Demonstrated experience with dietary requirements and creating menus to suit those needs is essential, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.


Key Responsibilities:

* Implement and maintain programs to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen
* Supervise the kitchen in the absence of the Head chef or allocated Chefs
* Delegate duties and responsibilities to kitchen employees to ensure service demands are met


Qualifications:

* Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel industry
* Trade qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent
* Leadership experience within a professional kitchen environment
* Demonstrated experience with dietary requirements and creating menus to suit those needs


Preferred Qualifications:

* Food Safety Supervisor certificate
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Creative culinary mind
* Ability to work closely with suppliers
