The Coronial Court Support Officer is part of the Operations Team and manages coronial investigation files, prepares court documents, and communicates with relevant stakeholders on behalf of the Coroner and the Coroners Court of Queensland.The role involves working with the Coronial Services Officer and Coronial Support Officer to deliver family-focused, timely, and accurate coronial services to the bereaved. The officer is responsible for liaising with coroners, families, witnesses, court users, and stakeholders.This position requires working in a dynamic, demanding, and sensitive operational environment while maintaining high-quality output and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Case manage complex coronial matters, including preparing court forms, documents, correspondence, and supporting the coroner during inquest and pre-inquest proceedings.Develop and maintain effective relationships with partner agencies such as Queensland Police Service (QPS) and Queensland Health, as well as other court stakeholders.Communicate in writing and verbally with QPS, medical, legal, and other practitioners, members of the public, and families regarding coronial matters.Coordinate management of inquest-related matters, including preparing evidence briefs, liaising with staff, legal professionals, witnesses, and families, and managing court venues and proceedings.Ensure accurate and timely coding of investigation data into the National Coronial Information System (NCIS), meeting coding quotas and KPIs.Maintain accurate court records to support advice, quality assurance, and reporting.Contribute to registry practice improvements by advising on workloads, procedures, and staffing issues.Provide peer support, training, and mentoring to other officers.Participate in team meetings to promote efficient practices and a safe work environment.Assist the Director of Operations, coroners, legal officers, and managers with administrative tasks, including managing the court diary.Perform other duties as directed, ensuring adherence to standards and objectives.Note: Employees may be exposed to distressing material and persons experiencing distressing circumstances.
